You’re welcome here. Membership is open to people who live, work, worship, or attend school where we have branches — plus their immediate family, plus Select Employer Group members.
Who can become a member?
Membership is available if you:
- Live, work, worship, or attend school in cities or counties where we have branches
- Are an immediate family member of an existing member (spouse, parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, sibling — including step- and adoptive)
- Are an employee of one of our Select Employer Groups (SEGs)

$25 makes you an owner.
Your $25 deposit opens a Regular Savings account — and that account is your share in the credit union. You’re a part-owner from day one. Add checking, a card, a loan, or whatever you need from there.

- Who can join Great Plains?

- How much does it cost to open membership?

$25 minimum to open a Regular Savings — that’s it. Your $25 is your share in the credit union and stays in your savings account.
- What do I need to bring?

A valid photo ID, your Social Security number, and proof of eligibility (a recent utility bill at a qualifying address, an immediate-family member’s account, or your SEG employer details).

- What’s a Select Employer Group?

An organisation whose employees can join Great Plains as part of an established group. Many local employers in our communities are SEGs — call us if you’d like to check.
- How long does it take to open my account?

Most memberships are opened the same day, in branch or by phone, once we’ve verified your identity and eligibility.
